Windows Server 2008, SQL 2008, and Visual Studio 2008 Launch and SharePoint
We're happy to congratulate Windows Server 2008, SQL 2008, and Visual Studio 2008 on their combined launch. The Heros (truly do) Happen Here. In a few hours at global launch events you'll hear about the launch of these products. Stop by the SharePoint booth in the Microsoft Pavilion if you're at the Launch.

We're happy to launch our support for Windows Server 2008 at it's release with WSS SP1 and MOSS SP1. You can find out more about installing, upgrading, and evaluating Windows Server 2008 with SharePoint Products and Technologies on our special Windows Server 2008 TechNet resource page, a single resource page for WSS 3.0 and SharePoint Server 2007. You'll be adding more resources like some new downloadable labs to better help you evaluate the operating system and leverage its strengths in troubleshooting and managing your environment. (coming soon!)

With SQL 2008 we plan to support it at it's release and are working closely with the team to ensure we're working better together. Those at the SharePoint Conference will get a sneak peak into some of the cool things happening in SQL 2008 that benefit SharePoint deployments, don't miss the Keynote (hint hint). Also a breakout at the conference will have additional information on the SQL 2008 with SharePoint admin better together experience.

Visual Studio 2008 (the greatest development environment ever) including the .NET Framework 3.5 are supported with WSS SP1 and MOSS SP1 installed on the server, respectively.
